So I caught up my day lag, doing basically two days worth of burpees in less than 24 hours, but then lost again the next day. As of this morning, I had 80 of yesterday’s 81 to do (yes, I realize how ridiculous that sounds, but I tacked one on to the last set I finished from the previous day) and today’s 82.
I’ve just finished two sets of 10, and felt the burn starting about halfway through the second one. Could be because I’m tired (been a bit short on sleep the past few days) although despite being awake since 5:30, I actually feel quite alive this morning (contrary to the same time yesterday, when I also woke up at 5:30). So if I can get through yesterday’s by noon, then I could potentially catch up once again, which I really need to do, since I will be up at 3:30am tomorrow, only to get home around midnight, with probably very little opportunity in that long day to do the 83 burpees that will be on my agenda for the day!
Just so you know… I’m on Day 23 & scanned your daily logs for inspiration & support. I know people who make it through do it in different ways — some going for a couple of long sets, some doing 5 or 10 every hour or so throughout the day. I just wanted to say, one more person out there is rooting for you!

Thanks G!
It’s very exciting to hear about other people in the challenge, and your note is helping keep me going through to overcome the burpee deficit/debt that I am working my way through.
You’re absolutely right about splitting things up differently also – although you’ll be surprised how easily a set of 10 becomes (as you may have seen, a while back I was struggling with sets of 7, then 8, then 9…).
Are you tracking your progress anywhere?
Not online, no — just printed out a 10×10 grid, with the words “5050 burpees, 100 days” in bold at the top. Each day, once they’re done, I write in the # and the date. If I miss a day, just a dash. Then when I make it up it’s “11+12″ or whatever, and the date. Of course, as the numbers go up, so does the incentive *not* to miss a day, for *any* reason!
And you’re right about the sets getting easier. I was doing sets of 5, now 7 or so. I might get up to 20s… eventually.
I happened upon your blog because I was looking for tips on getting through it, from a (relatively) normal person — I mean, great if you can do 4 sets of 25 your first time out, but I sure can’t.
So I was glad to see what you’ve written about your progress — good luck with the last 17 days!
